Let your life inspire your work. This week on Carlie’s Couch, self-taught mixed media artist Tyvette Symone joins us to discuss her new solo art exhibit, Reflections of the Human Condition. Each of the pieces featured explore a symbolic representation of symptoms from her personal journey with Bipolar I. She often explores the symptoms of mental illness intimately in her art and aims to inspire and de-stigmatize the conversation around mental health through sharing her own personal experiences within the composition of her work. As someone living with this mental illness, I hope to share a small glimpse of what it means to process the experiences that come with it.
